The Lady Longhorns outlasted region opponent Rome 3 to 2 on Tuesday evening. Kell took an early lead in the third inning thanks to a hit and stolen base from Brooke Kell. She would later be driven by designated player, Mia DeAngelis. Lexie Scarpantonio led the Lady Longhorns with 2 hits, including a double in the sixth inning. Her run would later score on a timely hit from first baseman Mackenzie Teague. This would prove to be the winning run, as Rome made it interesting late by scoring a run in the seventh inning.
Both pitchers were shaky in the circle, but ultimately Savannah Markt got the win on Tuesday. She went seven innings, giving up 2 runs (1 earned) on 7 hits. The play of the game came in the bottom of the sixth when Val Artigues made a diving catch in center and doubled off the runner at first. Kell plays another tough region opponent next in Villa Rica, and hope to keep the winning ways alive.
