The night started off well for the Lady Longhorns, sending down Cass 1-2-3 in the top of the first, then plating two runs in the bottom of the first. Mia DeAngelis got the Longhorns on the board with a 2 RBI single and pitched 5.1 innings of no-hit ball with 8 strikeouts and one walk. She was removed from the circle due to an injury to her pitching arm, but the coaches and trainers do not anticipate this being a lingering issue.
Savannah Markt entered in relief and the defense fell apart, giving up 9 runs in a span of 6 outs. Julia Hedrick was the third relief pitcher, entering in the 7th in a bases loaded, no outs jam. She was able to escape the inning unscathed to keep the score at 9-2. The Lady Longhorns drop to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in region play. They look to right the ship in a non-region game against Roswell on Monday.
