For the second game in a row, the Longhorns came out scoring in two runs in the first inning of the game. After Brooke Kell and Brooke Smith reached base, they were driven home by Mia DeAngelis to take a 2-0 lead. The Longhorns scored again in the third inning with an RBI groundout from DeAngelis, who produced all of the runs on the evening.

DeAngelis took the loss after only allowing 2 hits and striking out 13 batters. Both hits for Hiram were huge as one was a three-run shot to left field and the other was the go-ahead RBI double in the sixth inning. Kell will look to right the ship against region foe, Paulding County, on Tuesday. Kell is now 1-2 overall, 0-1 in the region.
