Kell stayed in it until the end, but Creekview pulled away late in a 12-4 victory on Wednesday. The Lady Longhorns stormed ahead in the third inning, but couldn’t hold on. The game was tied at four with Creekview batting in the bottom of the fourth when Camila Gooden singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Kell was unable to contain the high-powered offense of Creekview, giving up 7 runs in the fourth inning.
Kell notched four runs in the third inning. The big inning was driven by a triple by Lexie Scarpantonio and a double by Hannah Johnson. Erin Griffen took the win for Creekview. She lasted five innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out four. Savannah Markt took the loss for Kell. She went four innings, allowing ten runs on eight hits.
